Marine Superintendent

Type: Contract

Scope of work:

Supervise and monitor the function of assigned vessels
Attend to shipboard visits / inspections / surveys as per Company’s policy and submit written reports to the Marine / Safety Manager
Ensure that all factors with regards to health, safety and security are regularly monitored to achieve high standards of safe and pollution-free voyages
Issue necessary instructions pertaining to vessel safety matters
Oversee, ensure, review and advise on all the necessary logistic, certification, scheduling & clients’ requirement for fleet vessels to carry out operational duties.
Liaise with Masters on charts / publications updating navigational issues
Inform vessels of National, Class International regulations and rules in force
Inform vessels of Company’s policy and regulations in force
Coordinate on site repairs if required
Provide Masters with navigational information where required.

Skills and background required:

Minimum Diploma in any Marine related course
Strong problem solving and leadership skills
Must have sailed on Oil Tankers, Chemical Tankers or Gas Carriers for at least a year, in command
Proficient in report writing and Microsoft Programs
Must be certified, qualified and medically fit
